Outstanding Student-Athletes Awarded Singapore Olympic Foundation – Peter Lim Scholarships
SOF-Peter Lim Scholarship
54 student-athletes were proud recipients of the Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Scholarship in 2024. 26 of them received the scholarship in the High Performance Under-18 category. These student-athletes have performed commendably in regional and international competitions.
They made the list of 96 student-athletes from around Singapore who were awarded the prestigious award at Temasek Polytechnic on 27 May 2024. 28 other student-athletes received their scholarships under the secondary and tertiary categories.
First-time recipient of the High Performance Under-18 scholarship, gymnast Jovi Loh Jia Le shared, “I feel grateful to be awarded the scholarship. I intend to use the monetary reward for my training fees, equipment and training attire. With this scholarship, I aim to get into the finals of the world junior competition next year and hopefully medal in the Asian Youth Games.”
At the presentation ceremony, $1.1 million was distributed to 404 student-athletes across 34 sports. Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), Ms Grace Fu, graced the occasion as Guest-of-Honour. Guests and awardees were also in awe of Olympic and world champion swimmer Anthony Ervin, who also attended the ceremony as a special guest.
The SOF-Peter Lim scholarship helps young deserving sports talents to achieve their sporting goals and supports young high-performing athletes under 18 years old to pursue sporting excellence in their chosen fields.
