Embracing Diversity Through Community Partnership

Supporting Woodlands Gardens School’s Colour Socks Parade

20 IBDP Year 5 student-athletes had a meaningful day at Woodlands Gardens School’s Colour Socks Parade on 19 May 2023. This vibrant annual event organised by MINDS has brought together our student-athletes and Woodlands Gardens School’s Senior level students through a delightful neighbourhood walk and a concert.

The collaboration was formed as part of the upcoming National Day celebrations, during which students from Woodlands Gardens School will join in the festivities at Sports School. The Colour Socks Parade served as a unique opportunity for our student-athletes to connect with the Woodlands Gardens School students, better understand their experiences, and contribute to their event.

At the neighbourhood walk, our student-athletes walked side by side with the students from Woodlands Gardens School. They engaged in conversations and forged new friendships as they explored the local neighbourhood. This experience fostered a deeper appreciation for diversity and created lasting connections among the students. After the neighbourhood walk, our student-athletes joined them for a concert.

The experience and interaction with students from Woodlands Gardens School have left an indelible impression on our student-athletes, as they learnt to embrace diversity and build a truly inclusive community.
