Using Source-Based Skills To Promote Inclusivity For The Disabled

Learning Journey To Singapore Discovery Centre


Excited for their first external field trip since COVID-19 happened, student-athletes made the most of their visit to Singapore Discovery Centre on 31 March 2022. Applying the skills they have learnt from source-based case studies, they participated in a programme that helped them better understand contemporary issues related to active citizenry.

Azfar Luqman Ong (Secondary 4) was among the many excited faces from Sports School on the learning journey. “We were discussing ways to promote inclusivity for the physically and mentally disabled so that they can integrate with the normal society without prejudice. We were also introduced to organisations such as The Purple Parade that strives for inclusivity for those with special needs. I personally feel that this trip was very beneficial to me and my classmates as we were not only able to hone our source-based skills, but also learnt to see things from a different perspective,” said Azfar.

Other than enjoying their time in the programme, Azfar and the other student-athletes were also treated to an enriching tour around Singapore Discovery Centre where they got to see other interesting exhibits.
