Megan Lee Xinyi flew the Singapore flag high in two international competitions from 31 May to 11 June. At the Yonex Bonn International Series held from 31 May to 3 June, she claimed a joint bronze medal. She attained the same result at the Lithuanian International held from 8 - 11 June.

Brave Sword Badminton Series 2023


The Brave Sword Badminton Series 2023 held from 29 May to 4 June 2023 was a highlight for our shuttlers. Singapore Sports School’s Under-15 Girls' Doubles teams dominated the competition and had a clean sweep of all medals on offer, with Sophie Aleena Likwan and Loh Ying Fang leading the pack with the gold medal. The girls also stood together as they took home the joint 3rd position in the Under-15 Girls’ Singles. Not to be outdone, Andrea Jacqui Tay and Amber Lim took home the Under-19 Girls’ Doubles title.

Among the boys, Marco Boon and Ng Ming Zhe secured the gold medal in the Under-17 Boys’ Doubles event, while Tee Kai Ze and Tai Jong Waa finished with a joint bronze medal in the same event. Fan Zelin finished joint 3rd in the Under-15 Boys’ Singles, and Justin Tay came in 2nd in the Under-17 Boys’ Singles.

Alpha Age Open Series


At the Alpha Age Open Series held over 15 to 19 June, our shuttlers continued to inspire with their amazing display of skill and technique by tallying a total of 12 medals. The Under-17 Boys’ Doubles teams performed exceptionally well as they grabbed both the gold and silver along with a silver and bronze medal for the Under-17 Boys’ Singles event. Secondary 2 student-athlete Sophie Aleena Likwan went on to hold not only the champion title with her teammate Loh Ying Fang in the Under-15 Girls’ Doubles category, she also won the silver medal in the Under-15 Girls' Singles category. Through all their dedication and determination, our shuttlers bagged a total of 2 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals.

Pilot Pen Cup 2023


Our shuttlers winning streak continued at the Pilot Pen Cup 2023 where they amassed 5 medals. Low Rui Xuan along with her Under-15 doubles partner won the title. Our Under-14 boys also had a good run at the singles event as Ong Jun Hao and Tan Yi Kai Julian secured the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Mongolia Junior International Series 2023


The June holidays also ended on a high as our shuttlers frequented the podium at the Mongolia Junior International Series 2023 held from 20 to 25 June. Pitting their skills against opponents around the world, Justin Tay Ron Hsien and Chia Xin Ying claimed a bronze medal each in the Under-19 Men’s and Women’s Singles respectively, while our Under-19 Men’s and Women’s Doubles teams took home 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. In total, the Team Sports School returned with 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
