Avvir Dives Towards SEA Games Dream

2021 Major Games Selection Trials (Diving)

Avvir Tham Pac Lun has qualified for the Hanoi 2021 Southeast Asian Games Diving Men’s 3m Springboard individual event. He scored a combined total of 349.70 points over six dives at the Major Games Selection Trials organised by Singapore Swimming Association on 19 June 2021. His total score surpassed the qualifying score of 325.50 points, equivalent to the third-place score at the Philippines 2019 Games. Avvir, an alumnus of Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) is in Year 1 of Singapore Sports School’s customised Diploma in Business Studies programme, having joined the programme through the Polytechnic’s Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) held in mid-2020.

Secondary 3 student-athletes Joel Chiew and Yim Shek Yen also featured in the Boys Age Group A division events for divers between 16 and 18 years old.
