Unleashing The Roar As Champions Of First SFA Challenge Cup
SFA Challenge Cup 2022
Our Football boys kicked off the official launch of the School Football Academy (SFA) programme by being crowned champions of league 1 in the SFA Challenge Cup 2022. Secondary 1 student-athlete Muhammad Aaryan Ishmael Effandy's solitary goal in the finals against Jurongville Secondary School was enough to clinch the top spot in the league. That win was a significant one for Ishmael and his team mates as they are about to embark on an exciting phase in Singapore football.
Singapore Sports School is one of 10 SFAs that will work closely with the football eco-system and partners to have high-level, quality football training. Footballers under this academy will learn to adopt playing styles that are more suited in today’s modern game. They will also be training under the guidance of local and La Liga coaches.
Under the SFA programme, players will train regularly, play more matches and compete with both local and international teams. There will also be opportunities for overseas training stints and longer-term football scholarships.
With a stronger football foundation in place, the future looks exciting for the Lions.
