Having won a silver medal in the 31st SEA Games, Secondary 3 student-athlete and national diver Max Lee Shen Oon is hungry for more success and has continued to better his performances. His dedication to his training started to bear better results and finishing 4th at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships held in Montreal, Canada was his latest achievement.

Though not medalling in the championships, it was a big achievement for Max who scored 415.15 points in the FINA ‘B’ Boys Platform. Other than being the only Asian diver in the 12-diver final, it was also the first time that Max has scored more than 400 points, and secured his reputation as the top Asian diver at the Championships.

Max shared that by shifting his mindset to focus more on his dives and not pay too much attention to his competitors resulted in more consistent dives during the competition. His 4th placing was a reminder of what he can achieve by not overthinking and doubting himself.

Max is looking to build on this new milestone and qualify for the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
