Champions Roar For Inclusivity and Excellence
ROAR Award of the Month – July 2023
In a heartwarming stride, IBDP Year 5 student-athlete Alexis Hoh brought cheer to the Woodlands Gardens School's 'Colour Socks Parade' with her unwavering support for children with intellectual disabilities.
Yet, her role exceeded mere participation. When Alexis was approached to share her experience, she gracefully took the stage without a moment's hesitation and generously shared her takeaways from her interaction with students from Woodlands Gardens School.
Unbeknown to her, this gesture of empathy and commitment to nurturing an inclusive and supportive community has earned her the ROAR Award of the Month (July).
The other two student-athletes who had received the ROAR Award of the Month (July) were Secondary 1 student-athletes, Xuan Ilyas and Lim Hong Rui. Overcoming the quiver of stage fright, they embraced their roles as emcees for the School's Racial Harmony Day Commemoration.
They were diligent in attending all rehearsal sessions and took the extra mile to refine the script. Their effort and commitment to deliver a successful event showcased their responsibility and pursuit of excellence. They were also unfazed and adapted well to last-minute changes, leading to a seamless and meaningful 40-minute event held in the school Auditorium.
