Good News Roll In From Bowling Alleys And Netball Courts

National School Games Bowling "C" Division and Netball “C” Division Championships

Sports School's lower secondary Bowling Academy student-athletes rallied together to win two gold, two silver, one bronze and three 4th-place medals in the Single, Doubles and Quartet events to secure the Boys and Girls Overall Runner-Up trophy at the ‘C’ Division National School Games, held from 15 to 25 July 2019.

Singapore Sports School's top performer at the 2019 National School Bowling "C" Division Championships, Shirlene Wong Xue Lin was crowned the Girls All-Events champion with a total pinfall of 3418. The Secondary 2 student-athlete overcame a bout of illness during her Singles and Doubles events to win the silver and gold respectively. Shirlene also won the Quartet gold.

At the Boys All-Events, Secondary 2 bowler Ethan Tan Jing Zhi took home the bronze medal with 3377 pinfalls. Ethan was also part of the quartet that won the runner-up trophy.

Over at the netball courts, Singapore Sports School netballers won the North Zone ‘C’ Division competition against opponent CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School on 14 August, with a score of 25-19. Our netballers will begin their campaign in the National School Games from 16 August to 4 September.
