Fencers Bagged One Gold, One Silver And Two Bronzes

Asian Cadet Circuit 2019

Singapore Sports School fencers brought home four medals from the two-day Asian Cadet Circuit held in Wuxi China from 10 to 11 August, outperforming their medal haul at the same competition last year.

Cheung Kemei (Secondary 2) and Joel Chiu Ka Jyn (Secondary 4) won a silver and a bronze in the Women’s and Men’s Foil respectively on the first day of the competition.

Not to be outshone by the foilists, sabreists Chan Phu Xien (Secondary 4) and Dan Wei Zuo (Secondary 3) put up a strong showing on the second day of the competition. Phu Xien dominated his Chinese opponent Chen Jiaxi and won by a significant margin of 15-7 in the Men's Sabre event, clinching the gold medal, while Wei Zuo brought home a bronze medal in the same event.
