Shooters Zero In On A Successful NSG Season

National School Games - Shooting (‘A’ and ‘B’ Division)

The medal-hunting season was well on the way in the month of April at the National School Games. Our shooters were all geared up and zeroed in their sights on another successful season. The ‘B’ Division shooters took on the challenge first from 27 to 31 March 2023.

Student-athletes Jillian Su En-Yin from Secondary 4 and Jaymee Poh from Secondary 3 played a nail-biter at the Air Rifle Women’s Individual event held at SAFRA Yishun. The duo led the pack of 24 shooters in their detail and were only separated 0.4 points at the final elimination round with Jillian pipping Jaymee for the top spot. Another Secondary 4 shooter Clarice Lee Shan Rong also did well to finish in 2nd place in the Air Pistol Women’s Individual Event before helping the Women’s Team to secure 2nd place in the Air Pistol Women’s Team event together with Rinnah Lau Ee Joy, Chloe Tai Xin En and Samantha Cheng Xin Tong.

The ‘A’ Division shooters took to the same range from 10 to 14 April. They managed to achieve 6 podium finishes. IBDP student-athletes Au Yong Qing Yong, Lau Yew Liang and Maldon Then Fung Lim took first place in the Air Pistol Men’s Team. In the Air Rifle Women’s Individual event, Ariana Beh Yoke Ching secured first place after edging her competitor by 4.9 points.

Our shooters amassed a total of 3 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals from both divisions.
