National School Games - Bowling (‘B’ Division)

Our ‘B’ Division bowlers spared no effort at the National School Games held at SuperBowl Mount Faber. The venue was buzzing with excitement with supporters from 10 different schools shouting and cheering for their students. However, our students handled the pressure like professionals and dominated the ‘B’ Division events, apart from the Girls’ Singles where a bronze medal was obtained.

Brian Ngoi Kai Ren’s strategy of listening to music and soundtracks from his favourite video games worked out for him as he brought glory to the Boys’ team and went 3 for 3 in the Singles, Doubles and Quartet event. “The music keeps me motivated,” he said. Lim Shi En follows the same technique of using music as a tool to keep calm. That helped her to make a clean sweep, procuring 2 gold medals in the Girls’ Doubles and Quartet events along with a bronze medal in the Girls’ Singles event. Shi En also credited her teammate’s comradery for her success as she said, “I had my ups and downs today but when I wasn't bowling well, I could rely on my teammates to help me out.”

Moreover, both Shi En and Brian obtained the Boys’ and Girls’ All-Event titles respectively. All in all, our students attained a total of 13 medals (7 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze). With their outstanding performance, the ‘B’ Division bowlers took home the title as overall champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories for the second consecutive year.
