Swimming Amongst The Best

18th Singapore National Swimming Championships

47 past and present swimmers lined up on the starting block launch pads and raced against time at the 18th Singapore National Swimming Championships. Held from 21 to 24 June 2023 at the OCBC Aquatic Centre, our swimmers were among 756 competitors, including those who came from India, Malaysia, Thailand, Micronesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Korea, Maldives and Papua New Guinea.

In the face of stiff competition, our swimmers pushed themselves hard and clocked in 177 personal best timings. They even secured 3 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals to show for their efforts.

Alumnus Maximillian Ang Wei was a crowd favourite and he showed up to win gold in the Men’s 100m and 200m Breaststroke events. He also added a silver in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke. Secondary 3 swimmer Vivienne Chew En was another spotlight performer. She pocketed 1 gold and 2 silver medals in the Women’s 400m Individual Medley, Women’s 200m Butterfly and Women’s 200m Individual Medley events respectively.
