Earth Day
On 21 April 2025, we celebrated Earth Day with an inspiring assembly led by our passionate student-athletes who are walking the talk for a greener future.

First up, our enthusiastic Secondary 1 eco-champions, Andre Chua and Hannah Soffiah Mohamed Hanafiah, wowed the audience with their creative solutions to food packaging waste. As part of their Applied Learning Programme (ALP), they turned trash to treasure by recycling Milo and milk cartons into eye-catching sculptures!

Their green journey doesn’t stop there. They are also nurturing their own kangkong and spinach through our school’s eco-farming initiative.
The first batch of ‘SSP-grown’ kang kong was harvested on 30 April 2025 and served in the Arena.

At assembly, Secondary 4 changemakers, Kyan Jee Kai En and Isabelle Lee Ern Swan, also turned the spotlight on the issue of food waste. With over 817,000 tonnes of food discarded every year in Singapore, they introduced the concept of “foodprints” - the environmental impact of the food we consume and waste. Their message: small actions, like mindful eating and reducing leftovers, can make a big impact!
