With just two weeks to go for the 2019 SEA Games, Sports School squash player, Au Yeong Wai Yhann received a confidence boost upon claiming the title at the SGSquash Circuit 2019. This is her second successive SGSquash Circuit title at the Kallang Squash Centre. In the semis, Wai Yhann had to come up after a game down against Kuala Lumpur’s Aminah Rosli. However, she had a comfortable win against Malaysia’s Angie Ooi after defeating her in straight games on 3 November.

The Extended IBDP student-athlete finished her last paper on 14 November, but did not take a breather despite a packed schedule between trainings and examinations. She will be competing for a final time at Singapore Squash Open from 12 to 16 November 2019 before she sets off for the SEA Games. With a good line-up of international players, the Singapore Squash Open will serve as an excellent platform for her to gauge her standing, and sharpen her game ahead of the SEA Games at the end of the month.
