Two groups of Singapore Sports School Badminton Academy student-athletes enjoyed bronze medal hauls at two competitions.

In Jakarta, Indonesia, Marcus Phil Lau Jun Hui got off to a winning start against Indonesian opponent at the 2019 Pembangunan Jaya Raya Junior Grand Prix Boys Under 15 Singles, with a score of 21-17 and 21-12. With the aim towards podium finish, Marcus put up a strong showing in the next three games. He eventually clinched the bronze medal with a score of 21-19, 6-21 and 21-19 in the 6-day competition held from 30 April to 5 May.

In the same period at Trang, Thailand, another group of Badminton Academy student-athletes from the Singapore Sports School had also flown the Singapore flag high. Johann Prajogo and Nge Joo Jie tasted success in the Pumpui Championship Boys U17 Doubles with a bronze medal.
