Singapore Sports School is the choice school for any youth athlete who is serious about pursuing sports at the highest level and appreciates a flexible and rigorous academic programme concurrently.
We have produced 8 Olympians and 13 World Champions. Our young competitors have taken part in four editions of the Asian Games, four editions of the Commonwealth Games and seven editions of the Southeast Asian Games, winning for Singapore a total of 111 gold, 80 silver and 77 bronze medals.
Our commitment to Long-Term Athlete Development ensures that the intensity of our training programme is always age and student-athlete appropriate. This approach optimises the potential of our student-athletes and encourages a lifelong interest and involvement in sports. Our student-athletes train in world-class facilities with like-minded peers under experienced coaches who have raised athletes to the prize podium at international competitions. The coaches are supported by a team of sport scientists from National Youth Sports Institute. Our student-athletes also enjoy in-house nutrition and boarding support, and quality overseas training and competition exposure.
The Sports School’s extended 6+ year through-train programmes and pathways which are uninterrupted by national examinations allow talented student-athletes to fully develop in their chosen sport. Our academic programmes are athlete-friendly, and can be customised for individual student-athletes to train and compete at the highest levels. We offer the Extended and standard International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, the customised Diploma in Sport Management and the customised Diploma in Business Studies (Entrepreneurship Management Option) in collaboration with Republic Polytechnic and Ngee Ann Polytechnic respectively. All our post-secondary programmes are taught on Sports School’s campus.
We have achieved commendable sport and academic results over the last 15 years. There is no better place than Singapore Sports School for any youth athlete who aims to compete at the Olympic Games and World Championships.
