Record Haul For SSP

SSP swimmers brought home the bulk of the Gold medals with Secondary 1A's Phiangkhwan Pawapotako the undisputed swim queen as she swept aside her rivals to take home 4 Gold medals in the Girl's 50m, 100m, 200m Breaststroke and 200m Individual Medley events. Teammate Lim Ching Hwang added 2 more Gold medals to the tally following wins in the Boy's 100m and 200m Freestyle events. He also teamed up with Koh Jun Wei, Stanley Lam and Benedict Boon to win the 4x100m Freestyle relay.
The Track and Field Academy clinched 2 Gold medals when Shanti Pereira won the Girl's 100m event and led her teammates Eugenia Tan, Tallulah Braganca and Farhana Thair to victory in the Girl's 4x100m relay. 6 Bronze medals were won by the Badminton Academy in the Team, Boy's and Girl's Singles, Boy's Doubles and Mixed Doubles events.


A total of 18 SSP student-athletes participated at the 2011 ICG, competing in a field of a total 1,500 athletes from 80 cities representing 33 countries. Embracing the spirit of friendly competition and sportsmanship, the student-athletes got to know competitors from other countries, learnt more about their cultures and brought back with them fond memories to last a lifetime.
