Milo Brings Out The Champion In Olympian Calvin Kang
Calvin Kang is the only athlete in his age-group in any sport to have competed in the Southeast Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and Olympic Games - all in a matter of four years, before he turned 20 years old.
After representing Singapore at the 2007 Korat Sea Games, he competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games and 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. In November, he will be going for the 2011 Jakarta-Palembang Sea Games, the second Sea Games for the 21-year-old.
Calvin served fulltime National Service after competing at the Olympic Games. As soon as he completed his obligations, Calvin wasted no time in preparing himself for the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships.
Calvin is currently an undergraduate at Nanyang Technological University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Science and Management. Time management has been his biggest challenge and most of the sacrifices he makes are on a personal level for leisure activities as he juggles the responsibilities as a student and athlete yet again - training up to six days a week, for about two and a half hours each session.
Calvin will compete in the 200m and 4x100 relay at the upcoming Sea Games and he is hungry for a podium finish.
