Keglers Jazreel, Hui Fen Strike Silver At World Meet

Following the Bronze medal feat by Shayna Ng in the Singles event, Singapore Sports School alumni Jazreel Tan and New Hui Fen did one better by striking Silver in the Doubles event at the World Women's Championships in Hongkong on 6 September 2011. The pair lost 392-453 to the American duo of Shannon Pluhowsky and Liz Johnson in their final match.

En route to second place, Jazreel and Hui Fen broke two competition records - the one-game total of 535 pinfalls and three-game high score of 1,468 pinfalls. However, following the Singaporean duo's record breaking feat, another American pair of Carolyn-Dorin Ballard and Kelly Kulick bettered those marks with their own high scores of 556 pinfalls and 1,536 pinfalls.

Jazreel's and Hui Fen's Silver, coupled with Shayna's Bronze, are Singapore's best showing since the competition started in 1954.

Approaching next is the Trios event. Jazreel, Hui Fen and Shayna will form one team, while another alumnus, Daphne Tan, her sister Cherie and Geraldine Ng make up another.
