Overview

Graduating GCE O-Level students interested in pursuing an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and who possess outstanding talent in sport, can send in their applications before or during the annual MOE DSA-JC exercise.

Singaporean students may apply to join Singapore Sports School for sports not listed above if they have the support and endorsement of the respective National Sports Association (NSA).

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must currently be graduating GCE O-Level students in Secondary 4 Express / Secondary 5NA or equivalent and studying in Singapore.

They should also have:
  • represented Singapore Schools/National Youth/Age-Group teams, or attained outstanding sport achievements;
  • offered relevant subjects and achieved good academic performance in Secondary 3/4/5 school examinations; and
  • demonstrated good conduct.

Students will be shortlisted and assessed based on track record, experience and potential in the sport, interest and passion for the sport, and motivation to join Sports School. Students are also required to clear an interview and pass a medical screening test.

Successful DSA-JC candidates will NOT be allowed to participate in the Joint Admissions Exercise. They will also NOT be allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the GCE O-Level examination results. They are expected to honour their commitment to the DSA-JC schools.

Each successful applicant will be offered a place in Sports School in January of the following year on the condition that they satisfy the minimum criterion for admission into Junior College based on his/her GCE O-Level Examinations results.

Choose ‘Applying to join Singapore Sports School at the academic level - Post-Sec IB Diploma Programme’.

Please get ready the following documents:
1) Combined into one pdf/png/jpeg/jpg file [Max File Size: 3 MB]
  • NRIC/Re-entry permit for Singaporeans/PR
  • School academic reports i.e. Secondary 1 to 3 year-end result slips and Secondary 4 term 1 result slip, and any other recent result slips
  • Others (Sports achievements / awards / letter of support from NSA for Individual Programme)

2) Documents (if any) related to learning disabilities or special education needs [Max File Size: 1 MB]


Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by Sports School for further engagement.

In view of the COVID-19 situation, to ensure the safety of the DSA applicants, the school will conduct selection using electronic mode and applicants need not visit our school in person.


Admission to International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 5 In January 2022

PHASE 1

Application Period   From 5 May to 1 June 2021

Selection Period   From 5 May to 11 August 2021

Offer Stage  28 June to 11 August 2021
School conducts selection and makes Phase 1 offers.

Acceptance Stage   12 to 16 August 2021
Each student may accept only one Phase 1 offer within this stage, regardless of the number of offers received.

Cooling-Off Stage  17 to 19 August 2021
Students may cancel their earlier acceptance of Phase 1 offers if they wish to consider Phase 2 offers.

PHASE 2

Application Period   From 17 August to 6 September 2021

Selection Period   From 17 August to 6 September 2021

Offer Stage  17 August to 6 September 2021
School conducts selection and makes Phase 2 offers.

Acceptance Stage   7 to 10 September 2021
Each student may accept only one Phase 2 offer within this stage, regardless of the number of offers received.

Withdrawal  By 8 October 2021, 5pm
