Singapore Sports School Orientation Camp
Wide smiles and cheery laughter filled the Singapore Sports School as the Sports School welcomed 103 prospective Secondary 1 student-athletes for the 2018 school year at the 2017 Orientation Camp from 19 to 20 October 2017. The Sports School Orientation Camp has two parts with the second being held in January 2018 when the freshmen enroll into the school.
The first day of the camp was filled with a splashing good time as the Primary 6 students tried dragon boating for the first time. After a scrumptious lunch, they headed back to the Sports School for training with their respective academies. As the day dwindled down, our senior student-athletes guided the enthusiastic Primary 6 students to learn the dance which was performed at the talent night on the last day of the camp.
The second day of the camp was full of smiles and laughter. Organised by our senior student-athletes, fun academy bonding games took place where the Primary 6 pupils got to know their future teammates better. School cheers were taught and a final dance rehearsal for the talent show took place.
The two day camp allowed the Primary 6 students to familiarise themselves with the school campus as well as boarding and training life in the school. It was no longer a dream as they were able to end their journey as strangers from different primary schools and being their journey together, taking their first steps of becoming sport champions!
