Mature Beyond Her Age
2nd FAI World Cup Of Indoor Skydiving
“Age is just a number, maturity is a choice,” this quote from Harry Styles stands true as student-athlete Choo Yi Xuan showed maturity beyond her years and finished 2nd in the Dynamic two-way artistic category at the FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving in Laval, Montreal from 19 to 22 October 2017.
Yi Xuan who is only 16 years of age, teamed up with partner Kyra Poh to represent Team Firefly. The duo was the only female pair among the 22 teams and competed in the open category despite being eligible for the junior category.
Despite being the youngest pair at the competition, she did not let the pressure of the competition get to her and was determined to do well. Assuring herself that she worked hard for it and it was not the first time performing at such a high level.
Yi Xuan had finished fourth in the previous edition of the competition and coming back a year later had her eyes sighted on bettering her performance. This gave her the motivation while preparing for the tournament to be different in their free round, having a unique combination of both dynamic and graceful moves.
