Sports School YOG Countdown
SPN Executive Committee Members joined the sports school for the YOG countdown event on Friday, 14 August. The first-ever Youth Olympic Games was 365 days away as the world counts to Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. To support the countdown, SPN parents represented by SPN Vice Chairman, Albert Yeo, joined staff and students to kick-start the run 365 round the track in 365 minutes to commemorate the 365 days to the start of the YOG.
The formal celebrations began at 5.30pm with the arrival of the Guest of Honour, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. He was warmly welcomed by our Principal, Mrs Deborah Tan, Mr Chua Choon Seng, Dr Irwin Seet and Exco members of the Sporting Parents Network.
SPN PARTICIPATION & SUPPORT FOR THE OPEN HOUSE 2009 WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
Committee members spent quality time together getting to know each other while helping out at the i-centre booth and the e-centre booth. This year, the SPN stall sold the SPN T-Shirts and Sports Drinks.
Welcome 2009 Pot Luck Gathering
SPN kick started the New Year with the annual Pot Luck Get-Together on the 11th January 2009 from 7.30pm to 10pm. The venue was at the Parents Corner next to the boarding office. Parents were welcomed with warm smiles and delicious finger food.
The SPN hopes to get all parents together and to start each year well through this small ‘makan session’.
