Singapore Sports School is looking for suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, ENGLISH LANGUAGE 

Besides teaching the English Language and Literature, you will be responsible for the planning, deployment and monitoring of the English Language and Literature programmes in both the secondary levels and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. You will also work with teachers and other key personnel in the School to drive various programmes.

Requirements  
  • A good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
  • Post-graduate diploma in Education or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience in local schools
  • Current and experienced key personnel in local schools
  • Experience in International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is an advantage


(1) TEACHER, CHEMISTRY AND LOWER SECONDARY SCIENCE 
(2) TEACHER, MATHEMATICS 
(3) TEACHER, PHYSICS AND LOWER SECONDARY SCIENCE 
(4) FLEXI-ADJUNCT TEACHER, CHEMISTRY AND LOWER SECONDARY SCIENCE 

You will be responsible for the teaching, learning and mentoring of our student-athletes. You may also be involved in curriculum design, development of pedagogical strategies and assessment plans.

Requirements  
  • A good undergraduate degree in the relevant discipline
  • Post-graduate diploma in Education or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in local secondary school or junior college
  • For positions 2 and 4, experience in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or GCE ‘A’ Level is an advantage
  • For position 4, applicants must be able to commit for about 6 months


HEAD COACH, NETBALL
HEAD COACH, SWIMMING
You will lead and mentor a team of coaches.  You will be responsible for planning and implementing the training and competition plans for the group of assigned student-athletes and will also work closely with the Academy on the broader development plans of the Academy.  You will conduct regular meetings with student-athletes and their parents and submit written progress reports.  You will work with the General Manager, team of coaches in the Academy and external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • At least 10 years of competitive coaching experience at elite youth level
  • Possess SG-Coach Certification or equivalent
  • A commitment to values inculcation and character development
  • A deep understanding of sports development, athletes’ development pathways and Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD)
  • Good administrative and organisational skills and be able to communicate well in English


COACH, FOOTBALL
COACH, TRACK AND FIELD

You will be responsible for planning and implementing the training and competition plans for a group of assigned student-athletes. You will conduct regular meetings with student-athletes and their parents and submit written progress reports. You will work with the General Manager, fellow coaches and external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of competitive coaching experience at elite youth level
  • A commitment to values inculcation and character development
  • A deep understanding of sports development, athletes’ development pathways and Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD)
  • Good administrative and organisational skills and be able to communicate well in English

For Coach, Football
  • At least AFC "B" Licence
  • Experience working with National Sport Associations and/or Schools is an advantage

For Coach, Track and Field
  • Possess an internationally recognised high level coaching qualification in track and field development recognised/accredited by IAAF
  • Possess SG-Coach Certification or equivalent
  • Specialise in Middle/Long Distance and Multi-Events


SENIOR MANAGER/MANAGER, ESTATE

You will be responsible for the full spectrum of estate-related functions. You will plan, develop, implement and evaluate estate management policies, procedures and practices for the School in compliance with all regulatory requirements and in accordance with best practices in the industry. The responsibilities include budgeting, resource allocation, vendor/supplier management, project management, ensuring timely execution of maintenance, repairs and renovation works as well as logistics and operations support for school activities.

Requirements  
  • A degree in Building/Estate Management/Project and Facilities Management or relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a similar capacity
  • Able to adapt in a fast-paced work environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and organisational skills with an eye for detail


MANAGER, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS

You will be responsible for building a strong organisational brand by developing and delivering strategic communications plans and programmes. You will actively engage internal and external stakeholders through various communications channels and processes. You will lead communications launches, events and campaigns, including media engagement strategies and campaigns, in order to deliver comprehensive messaging to target audiences.

Requirements 
  • A degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, public relations and/or publishing
  • Experience in managing internal/external communication deliverables such as collaterals, emails, newsletters, presentations, websites, social media platforms, etc
  • Good writing, editing and basic visual graphics skills
  • Good relationship building skills to build buy-in across stakeholders
  • A good team-player, highly motivated and outcome driven


MANAGER/ASSISTANT MANAGER, PLANNING

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Sports, you will support the development of strategy formulation, workplans and performance indicators. You will support senior management in the execution of strategic plans, monitor and evaluate the School’s performance against targets as set out in the strategy map, and propose action plans if necessary. 

The job will require you to perform benchmarking studies and research, identify and analyse key trends, risks and their impact on the School. You will also perform secretariat functions at senior management meetings.

Requirements  
  • A university degree
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in corporate planning and strategy development
  • Strong analytical and conceptual abilities
  • Good communication (oral and written) and management skills


SENIOR SYSTEM ANALYST / SYSTEM ANALYST

You will be part of a highly committed team responsible for managing all functional and technical aspects of complex and high value IT systems for the School. Besides working with end-users and external vendors to enhance the systems and provide technical support to end-users, you are expected to proactively provide assistance and advice to end-users on the effective use of the IT systems, and identify opportunities to optimise their business processes. You will also be required to produce and review technical documentation, including functional specifications, system design, technical and operational procedures, training guides etc. This is a contract position with an initial tenure of 2 years, with the possibility of extension.

Requirements  
  • A degree in any discipline 
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in successfully delivering and supporting major IT systems as a system analyst 
  • Excellent working knowledge in Microsoft dot-net, SQL and reporting server 
  • Excellent technical experience with databases, systems networking, web-development and end-user support 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and sound project and vendor management skills 
  • Experience in developing and implementing standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes 
  • Highly motivated with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities 
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills 
  • Previous experience in education sector is an advantage


EXECUTIVE, BOARDING AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

You will provide administrative and operational support for all Boarding and Business matters. This would include attending to enquiries for rooms and facilities rental, events management, rooming coordination, housekeeping, as well as food and laundry services arrangements, etc to ensure the smooth operations during the guests’ stay. You are required to be flexible in your working hours to perform guest check-in and check-out. In addition, you will support the food preparation and ensure that the caterer strictly follows sanitary and safety practices in all phases of the food service operations. You will monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes and investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality or service.

Requirements  
  • At least a diploma in any discipline 
  • At least 3 years of experience in events coordination and venue management 
  • Relevant qualification in food hygiene, catering, culinary management or specialised training in food service management is an added advantage 
  • Positive work attitude and service orientated


BOARDING MENTOR

You will support the Boarding School in supervising, nurturing and mentoring student-athletes. You will also support Boarding administration and operations for student-athlete matters including their studies, well-being, health, safety and discipline. Planning and organisation of activities and programmes to enrich the student-athletes’ boarding experience will also be part of your job scope. As you will need to reside in the school, a staff apartment will be provided.

Requirements
  • A degree in any discipline. Diploma holders with relevant experience are welcome to apply.
  • Former MOE teachers are welcome to apply

SENIOR EXECUTIVE / EXECUTIVE, ESTATE (1-Year Renewable Contract)

You will report to the Senior Manager, Estate in carrying out all building, estate and facility management related duties and responsibilities in the School and Boarding. You will provide documentation and administration support to meet statutory requirements, industry best practices and procurement of building, estate and facility management related goods and services. 

You will carry out physical inspection and defects rectification of the buildings, facilities and equipment in the School, coordinate and supervise all contractors, vendors and suppliers carrying out maintenance or A&A or improvement works in the School to ensure they comply with WSHA and other relevant statutory requirements. You will also provide logistics support for all School events by procuring and supervising contract workers, cleaners, standby electricians, etc. 

Requirements 
  • A diploma in Facilities Management, Estate Management, Property Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering or Building Services with at least 3 years of relevant working experience 
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements and codes relating to facilities maintenance 
  • Good administrative and organisational skills 
  • Good team player and ability to multi-task 
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills 
  • Good in Microsoft Office applications 
  • Certified Fire Safety Manager/Licensed Electrical Worker is an advantage
