2016 Direct School Admission – Junior Colleges Exercise
Admission to International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Year 5 in January 2017
Singapore Sports School offers an athlete-friendly International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP@SSP) to students seeking a broad-based post-secondary education leading to the university.
IBDP@SSP is one of the athlete-friendly post-secondary academic pathways available at the Sports School, which caters to the training and competition needs of the student-athletes. Unique features include:
- two main-examination sessions which allow student-athletes to sit for the November or May examinations; and
- an extended programme which allows selected student-athletes up to four years to complete.
Secondary 4 student-athletes interested in pursuing an IB diploma and who possess outstanding talent in sports, can send in their applications between 10 May and 27 June 2016.
More information on the IBDP can be found here.
All applicants must currently be Secondary 4 students (or equivalent) and studying in Singapore schools.
They should also have:
- represented Singapore Schools/National Youth/Age-Group teams, or attained outstanding sport achievements;
- offered relevant subjects and achieved good academic performance in Secondary 3 and 4 school examinations; and
- demonstrated good conduct.
Each successful applicant will be offered a place in the Sports School at the start of January 2017 on the condition that they satisfy the minimum criterion for admission into junior college based on his/her GCE "O" Level Examinations results, clear an interview and also pass a medical screening test.
Once a student has accepted the Direct School Admission offer, he/she will not take part in the Joint Admission Exercise.
Students who are interested in polytechnic courses can participate in the Early Admissions Exercise which will commence on 22 June 2016.
